My Computer Vault Editor's Review

This is not the first and it will not be the last program on the market meant to help you protect your files. But, in my opinion it tends to be one of the best.

While testing this program, I was pleasantly surprised to see a different method of entering the password. You can use the old typing method but this is a less secure method due to the fact that it is not protected against keyloggers and spyware. The implementation of the new method is impressive. It looks like entering a vault. You have a spinning alpha-numeric wheel and you create your password character by character. This is an efficient method against keyloggers.

The program is pretty easy to use but you might read the 'Help' file considering that there are a little more than a few tips. If you only want to test the program be careful because while adding the files you will see on the bottom of the user interface a check box for deleting or keeping the original files and by default it is checked. Of course, when you are using this program it is recommended to delete the original files but wile testing, this might not be necessary. After creating the vault and adding the files you will need your password each time you want to access the files. If you want to use the files you have to use the 'CheckOut File(s)' option. Your files will appear in the 'CheckOut' folder.

The user interface looks good. You can even set a transparency level for it. It is intuitive and you shouldn't have any problems using it.

Pluses: It is easy to use and offers a high level of security.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: I was impressed by this program. You might try it because it has a fair price and I consider it to be useful if you need to protect your data.
